Thickness
According to the size of the earring hole
Please choose from 16G or 14G.

1).16G (Diameter: 1.2mm)
A thickness that can be used even for standard pierced ears.
This is a popular gauge size.
Even for those who have pierced their ears with 14G, if you haven't worn earrings for a while, the piercing hole may have shrunk, so 16G is recommended.
2).14G (Diameter: 1.6mm)
If you pierced your ears with a 14G needle, please choose 14G.
Also, generally, people who have cartilage piercings or body piercing holes done at hospitals tend to have 14G.
02.
Length
The thickness of the earring hole plus 1mm is comfortable.

Piercing Hole Thickness +1mm
For easier attachment and removal of parts and cleaning of the barbell, we recommend adding 1mm to the piercing hole thickness. Individual differences exist, but generally, 7mm is popular for tragus piercings.
* If the length does not fit, please use our Return & Exchange Service.
* If there is a possibility of swelling due to unstable holes or other reasons, we recommend adding an additional 1mm.

About Tragus
Q&A
Do Earphones Get in the Way When Wearing Them?
Whether tragus piercings interfere with earphones is a common concern. However, if you use a "labret stud barbell" of the optimal length, the piercing rarely gets in the way when wearing earphones. Labret stud barbells are designed to sit flat inside the ear, minimizing interference with earphones and allowing for comfortable use. This lets you enjoy the charm of tragus piercings without disrupting your daily life or music listening.
What Is the Cutest Position for a Tragus Piercing?
The position of the tragus varies from person to person, but generally, piercing the hole at the center of the tragus or slightly above the center creates a cuter impression. This position can be adjusted according to the shape of your ear and facial features, allowing the tragus piercing to harmonize naturally with the ear’s contour. Especially when placed toward the upper part of the tragus, it’s easier to combine with other piercings. Choosing a position that suits your face and ear shape results in better overall balance and enhanced appeal.
How Painful Is Getting a Tragus Piercing?
The pain experienced when getting a tragus piercing varies depending on individual pain tolerance and the thickness of the tragus, but generally, people feel mild pain or discomfort. The tragus area is relatively thick and contains cartilage, so piercing it can cause some pain. However, the pain usually lasts only a short time and is not unbearable. Using proper techniques can minimize the pain.
How to Avoid Mistakes When Piercing?
To pierce the tragus safely, it is recommended to have it done at a professional clinic rather than doing it yourself. At a clinic, a skilled piercer will create the piercing hole in the correct position and orientation, greatly reducing the risk of mistakes. It is also important to have the procedure done in a hygienic environment to minimize the risk of infection. Choosing a trusted clinic allows you to enjoy your tragus piercing with peace of mind.
Recommended First Piercings
Please consider the following three points when choosing your first piercing.
① Parts That Minimize Stress on the Piercing Hole
When selecting your first piercing, we recommend parts that place minimal stress on the piercing hole, such as designs without snags, smaller sizes, and lightweight materials. Avoiding snagging is especially important to prevent everyday piercing troubles. Choose parts with a smooth and simple design for your first piercing.

② Barbells That Fit the Piercing Hole
It is also important to select a barbell length that matches the size of your piercing hole. Barbells that are too short put pressure on the hole, while those that are too long are more likely to snag. Choosing the correct length helps maintain comfort and health for your tragus piercing. Make sure to select the appropriate size until the piercing hole is fully healed.

③ Materials Suitable for Your Skin
We recommend gold, platinum, medical-grade stainless steel, or titanium, which are less likely to cause allergies. PICOLLET offers barbells in two options: Gold (K18) and Platinum (Pt850).
