Evaluation of Hue and Tone
Color stones are evaluated based on different criteria depending on the type of gemstone, but generally, they are assessed on how close they are to the "hue" and "tone (brightness and saturation)" considered beautiful within the respective gemstone category. Diamonds, on the other hand, are evaluated based on how close they are to being colorless.
